A delegation from the National Citizen Party (NCP), led by its Convener Nahid Islam, arrived at the State Guest House Jamuna at around 8:28pm on Saturday evening to meet Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus as part of a series of political consultations ahead of the upcoming national election.
The meeting, scheduled for 8:30pm, was held at the invitation of the chief adviser.
Other NCP leaders present at the meeting included Chief Organiser (south) Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adib, and Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Jara.
According to a statement issued earlier in the day by NCP Joint Member Secretary Mushfiq Us Salehin, the delegation was expected to hold in-depth discussions on the political roadmap, electoral reform, and national unity in the lead-up to the election.
The NCP’s meeting with the chief adviser followed earlier discussions between Yunus and leaders of both the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh.
Further details of the discussions with the NCP were not immediately available at the time of filing this report.
