On the anniversary of the July mass uprising, the National Citizen Party (NCP) launched the “July March to Build the Nation” programme.

The program commenced on Tuesday morning at around 10:30am at the grave of Abu Sayeed – one of the martyrs of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, in Babunpur Jafarpara village, Pirganj, Rangpur.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Chief Organiser (Southern Region) Hasanat Abdullah, Chief Organiser (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, Senior Joint Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud, and Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Zara, among other leaders, were present in Babunpur Jafarpara village to pay tribute to the martyr.

Later, they spoke with Abu Sayeed’s family members.

After paying respects at the grave, the NCP organised a march and a roadside rally towards Gaibandha. Additionally, at 3pm, another roadside rally was held by the party, passing through Park Mor, Lalbagh, Shapla Square, and Jahaj Company Mor in Rangpur, culminating at Town Hall.

Nahid Islam had announced the programme earlier on Sunday at a press conference held at the NCP’s temporary central office in Bangla Motor, Dhaka.
