Private commercial lender NCC Bank will suspend all types of transactions from 8 to 13 July as it upgrades its Core Banking System (CBS), according to a circular issued by the Off-site Supervision Department of Bangladesh Bank on Thursday.
As per the notice, all branches and sub-branches of the bank will remain closed for operations from 8:00pm on 8 July until 8:00am on 13 July.
During this period, services such as debit card transactions, ATM operations, internet banking, SWIFT, BCPS, BFTN, RTGS, and NPSB will also remain unavailable.
The central bank said the temporary suspension is aimed at ensuring a smooth upgrade of the bank’s core infrastructure.
The decision was taken under the authority of Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, in response to a formal request from NCC Bank.
Bangladesh Bank has circulated the directive to managing directors and chief executives of all scheduled banks.
The notice was signed by Gazi Md Mahfuzul Islam, Director of the central bank’s Off-site Supervision Department.
