The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has announced a new initiative aimed at enhancing trade facilitation through monthly meetings with business stakeholders. Starting from September, the NBR will hold a “Meet the Business” session on the second Wednesday of each month.

The sessions will provide an opportunity for business representatives to directly present challenges they face in customs, income tax, and VAT to the NBR chairman and members.

The initiative is designed to foster better communication between businesses and the NBR, helping the authority to gain insights into field-level issues and take timely corrective actions.

The first session will take place on Wednesday, September 10, at 3:00pm at the NBR Multipurpose Hall in Dhaka.

This step is seen as a crucial move in streamlining tax processes and addressing concerns that impact the business community.

By facilitating these monthly exchanges, the NBR aims to improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and create a more business-friendly environment in Bangladesh.
