The National Eidgah ground in Dhaka has been fully prepared to accommodate 35,000 worshippers for the main Eid-ul-Adha congregation this year. The grand event is being organized by the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), which has completed all necessary arrangements.
According to state news agency BSS, DSCC Administrator Md. Shahjahan Mia confirmed that preparations for the Eid prayer at the National Eidgah are now complete.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the Eidgah on Thursday, he announced, “The main Eid congregation will be held at 7:30 AM on Eid day at the National Eidgah. However, in case of unfavorable weather, the main congregation will take place at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 8:00 AM.”
To ensure the safety and comfort of worshippers, a large canopy has been set up to accommodate 35,000 people. A special VIP section has also been arranged with space for 250 worshippers.
Comprehensive security measures have been taken for the event. Police, RAB, and other law enforcement agencies have been deployed to maintain order and ensure safety throughout the gathering.
Additional facilities include separate blocks and entrances for women, arrangements for ablution (wudu), sanitation, and access to safe drinking water. Medical teams and ambulances will be on standby for emergency support.
The DSCC administrator emphasized that all arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth, safe, and respectful prayer experience for the large number of attendees expected at the National Eidgah.
