The spirit of sacrifice marked Eid-ul-Adha celebrations across Bangladesh on Saturday, with the principal congregation held at the National Eidgah adjacent to the Supreme Court at 7:30am. Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, advisory council members, Supreme Court justices, politicians, and citizens from various professions participated in the prayers, followed by special supplications for national peace, prosperity, and public wellbeing.

At Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, five congregations were held sequentially at 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, and 10:45am – maintaining the annual tradition. However, the Meteorological Department forecasted potential rainfall and rising temperatures during celebrations.
Geographical positioning caused Bangladesh to observe Eid a day after Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern nations. While most Bangladeshi Muslims celebrated on Saturday, small communities in some districts aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Friday observance.
The sacrificial rituals commenced post-prayers, extendable until Eid’s third day for those with valid reasons. Globally, Muslims in Europe, Indonesia, Australia, Britain, the US, and Africa celebrated within varying timeframes due to timezone differences.
Kishoreganj’s Sholakia Eidgah and Dinajpur’s Goreshahid Moidan hosted the largest gatherings, accommodating millions of worshippers collectively.
