Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala sustained a serious ankle injury during the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinal clash against Paris Saint-Germain at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on 5 July.
The incident occurred in first-half stoppage time, when Musiala attempted to reach a loose ball inside the penalty area. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma got to the ball first but collided heavily with the 22-year-old, leaving Musiala writhing in pain on the pitch.

The severity of the injury became immediately apparent, as Bayern teammates and PSG players — including Marquinhos and Willian Pacho — quickly signalled for medical assistance. Donnarumma was visibly distraught after seeing the extent of the injury and appeared to be in tears.
Musiala had to be stretchered off, casting a shadow over what had been an intense quarterfinal encounter. There has been no official update yet on the extent of the damage or the recovery timeline for the German international.
