Bangladesh will be without Mushfiqur Rahim for the opening Test against West Indies after the veteran batter was ruled out with a hand injury, while Litton Das returns to the side for the two-match series opener in Mirpur on Wednesday.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, with the hosts opting for three specialist spinners and two pacers.

Mushfiqur suffered the injury after being struck by a ball during training on Tuesday. Litton, meanwhile, has recovered sufficiently from the right hip injury he sustained during the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi to make the playing XI.
