Prime Video will premiere The Greatest, the first authorised scripted series about boxing legend Muhammad Ali’s life, on 4 November, reported on Variety.
The series comes from showrunner Ben Watkins, known for Cross, and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society. Ali’s widow Lonnie Ali will serve as an executive producer on the project.
The show follows Ali’s journey from his early days as Cassius Clay to becoming a world-famous heavyweight champion and humanitarian. Jaalen Best will play Ali in the series.
A newly released teaser features Ali’s intense training as he aims to become the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history.
Best, who previously appeared in All American: Homecoming and Magnum P.I., leads a cast that includes Michael Ealy, Dana Gourrier, Amin Joseph and Kai Parham.
Watkins’ Blue Monday Productions and Jordan’s Outlier Society will produce the series alongside Authentic Studios, Roc Nation, Polygram Entertainment and Grace: A Storytelling Company. Several executives from the production companies will also serve as executive producers.
Meanwhile, Jerry O’Connell has joined Big Brother: Unlocked as a celebrity panelist. He will appear alongside former winners Derrick Levasseur and Taylor Hale.
The announcement comes as Big Brother prepares for its 28th season, which will premiere on 9 July. Big Brother: Unlocked will return for its second season on 10 July on CBS and Paramount+, offering bonus episodes that analyse the competition and gameplay.
O’Connell said he is excited about joining the programme and described the opportunity as a dream role. He said he hopes to represent the fans while covering the unpredictable moments of the reality show.
O’Connell is known for his roles in Stand by Me, Sliders, Scream 2 and Kangaroo Jack.
In executive news, Comic Relief has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors and named a new vice chairman.
Versant president of entertainment Val Boreland, Google managing director of global apps partnerships Tom Gorke and Bain Capital partner David Spiller have joined the charity’s board. The organisation works to fight childhood poverty through comedy.
Patrick Vien, international managing director of A+E Global Media, has become the board’s vice chairman. He has served on the board since late 2025.
The Comic Relief board oversees the organisation’s strategic and financial operations and approves the distribution of grants.
In programming news, Paramount+ has approved a new docuseries on the Texas Tech University Red Raiders football team.
The four-episode series will follow head coach Joey McGuire as he builds a new team identity during the college football off-season. The untitled documentary has been in production since January 2026 and will arrive before this year’s college football season.
Micah Brown will direct and serve as showrunner, while Skydance Sports and Second Wind Creative will produce the project.
Paramount+ will also stream This Is UFC: McGregor vs. Holloway on 10 July, one day before the main fight event.
The one-hour special will air on CBS and later stream on Paramount+. It will feature a live weigh-in involving Conor McGregor, Max Holloway, Paddy Pimblett and Benoit Saint-Denis.
The programme will also include interviews with McGregor and Holloway, along with an appearance by UFC president Dana White.
UFC 329: McGregor vs. Holloway 2 will stream exclusively on Paramount+ on 11 July. The main card will begin at 6pm PT, with preliminary matches starting earlier.
McGregor, a former two-division UFC champion, and Holloway, a former featherweight champion, will meet again after 13 years. McGregor won their previous fight.
