Unidentified assailants brutally murdered Asaduzzaman Tuhin (38), stabbing him and slitting his throat in Gazipur after the journalist conducted a ‘live’ report exposing alleged extortion activities on social media.

Asaduzzaman Tuhin (38), a staff reporter for Daily Protidin Kagoj, was stabbed and his throat slashed at a tea shop near Chandana Chowrasta on Thursday night at around 7:45pm.

The attack occurred while Tuhin was sitting at the tea stall near Mosque Market, a busy commercial area. Earlier the same day, another journalist named Anwar – reportedly Tuhin’s close friend – was critically injured when assailants smashed him with bricks in a separate attack.

Tuhin, originally from Bhatipara village in Fulbaria, Mymensingh (son of Hasan Jamal), had been residing in the Chandana Chowrasta area with his family. Local sources indicate both journalists had recently conducted live reports exposing extortion rackets in Gazipur prior to the attacks.
