Bangladesh cricketer Mehidy Hasan Miraz fell ill with a fever shortly after arriving in Sri Lanka. Due to his illness, he was unable to attend team training and had to miss the first few days of the ongoing Test match in Galle. His condition worsened, and he was not fit to play in the match.

However, on the third day of the Test, Miraz made a recovery and joined the Bangladesh team in the dressing room, showing signs of improvement.

Miraz was seen on the field before the third day’s play in Galle. Having overcome the fever, he began training again. It is now reported that he is in good physical condition and ready to play in the second Test match in Colombo.

The absence of Miraz has been noticeable in the current Test match. His all-round skills, both with the bat and ball, have been missed by the Bangladesh team. In his place, opening batter Anamul Haque was included in the playing XI. However, Anamul struggled with the bat, failing to score in the first innings, getting out for a duck. It is widely expected that Anamul will lose his spot in the team once Miraz is fit to return to the playing XI.

Miraz’s return will be a big boost for Bangladesh. His presence in the team will strengthen both the batting and bowling departments. Miraz is known for his solid batting lower down the order, and his ability to play crucial knocks could prove vital. Moreover, with the pitch in Colombo being spin-friendly, Miraz’s off-spin bowling could also be a valuable asset for the team in the upcoming Test.

The second Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is set to begin on 25 June at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. Bangladesh will be hoping to have a fully fit squad for the match, with Miraz’s return expected to add strength to their lineup.
