Milestone tragedy: Three more discharged from burn institute

Three more patients, who were undergoing treatment for burns in the Milestone tragedy, have been released from the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

With this, a total of eight individuals returned home after recovering from the burn institute.

Dr Shaon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon of the burn institute, confirmed this information on Thursday afternoon.

He said that 32 people were admitted in the tragic plane crash till Thursday morning. Of them, three individuals – Tasnuba, 11, Zakir, 55 and Shreya, 9, -were discharged in the afternoon as their physical condition improved.

They will come back for treatment later, he said adding, that there has been no new death in the last three days. As of Wednesday, two people were in the ICU after the incident.

Among them, one has been transferred to ward from the ICU as the condition improved while another named Navid Newaz, who has 45 per cent burns, is now undergoing treatment in the ICU.
The rest are undergoing treatment in different wards.

On July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) fighter jet crashed on the Milestone school campus killing 34 people mostly minor students and left more than 150 injured.
