Mercantile Bank reports 21.6% decline in Q2 EPS

Mercantile Bank has reported a 21.6% decline in its second-quarter earnings per share (EPS) for 2025, with consolidated EPS standing at Tk 0.98 compared to Tk 1.25 for the same period last year.

The bank also saw a drop in its earnings for the first half of 2025, with consolidated EPS standing at Tk 1.82, down by 8.1% from Tk 1.98 in January-June 2024.

Alongside the decline in EPS, the bank’s consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) fell sharply by 54.6%, reaching Tk 3.60 in January-June 2025, compared to Tk 7.93 for the same period in 2024.

However, the bank achieved a positive 5.7% growth in its net asset value (NAV) per share, which rose from Tk 23.75 at the end of December 2024 to Tk 25.11 as of June 30, 2025.

The figures were disclosed through a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Sunday.

Mercantile Bank’s shares closed 1.22% higher at Tk 8.3 per share on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Sunday.
