An artist’s first creation always carries a special emotion. Vocalist Kishore Das is revisiting that feeling as he remakes the title track of his debut album ‘Nikhoj Songbad’, first released in 2008 with music by Kumar Biswajit.
Sharing the news on Facebook, Kishore wrote: “The appeal of anything ‘first’ is always different. Nikhojo Sangbad was my first audio album, released in 2008. It was also my first song composed by Kumar Biswajit sir and the first song written by my friend Rabiul Islam Jibon. Many of my life’s ‘firsts’ are tied to this song. After almost 17 years, I’ve tried to bring it back with a new arrangement. Thanks to my friend Arafat Setu, together we’ve tried to present it simply through a video. For me, this song is deeply nostalgic. If you like it, our hard work will be worthwhile.”
Lyricist Robiul Islam Jibon also shared his emotions online. His post read: “After debuting as a lyricist in December 2006, the first song I wrote became the title track of an album on Valentine’s Day 2008. Nikhoj Songbad, sung by Kishore Das and tuned by the legendary Kumar Biswajit, was a huge achievement for me. I still remember the night Kishore called me from Shahbagh, saying, ‘Your song is the title of my first album.’ I was so happy I couldn’t sleep half the night!”
The newly arranged Nikhoj Songbad has been released on Kishore Das’s official YouTube channel.
