Mastercard, Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and Sheba Pay have launched Bangladesh’s first SME companion prepaid card, designed for SME retailers transacting on Sheba Pay’s B2B platform.
The co-branded card will allow small retailers to access Sheba Pay’s range of B2B services, including cash flow management and timely payments, without requiring a traditional bank account.
It will also support NFC-enabled contactless payments, real-time balance mirroring, ATM withdrawals, and transactions on online and offline platforms both locally and internationally.
Cardholders will receive exclusive Mastercard offers and privileges on travel, lifestyle and dining, along with discounts and deals at more than 9,000 partner merchant outlets across the country.
Alongside the SME card, a consumer prepaid card has also been introduced, enabling individuals to use Sheba Pay services with the same flexibility. Both cards will be available in physical and virtual forms.
The three partners said the initiative aims to advance financial inclusion in the SME sector by providing secure, versatile and frictionless payment solutions for underbanked merchants.
