Rankon Motors and Mitsubishi Motors jointly hosted a grand inauguration ceremony at Bashundhara ICCB Hall Dhaka for locally assembled Mitsubishi Xpander at their own factory in Bangladesh.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Japan’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Saida Shinichi, Romo Rouf Chowdhury, managing director of Rankon Group and Mr. Yutaka Yano, division general manager of Mitsubishi Motors. Popular singer Habib Wahid and actor Siam Ahmed also joined the launching event alongside others.

Priced at BDT 3.4 million, the Mitsubishi Xpander is approximately BDT 1 million cheaper than the imported variant.

Ambassador Shinichi highlighted during his speech saying “This launch is more than just a car. It’s a shining example of strategic partnership, technological exchange, and mutual friendship between Bangladesh and Japan.”

Romo Rouf Chowdhury said, “We have been the official distributor of the Mitsubishi brand for over 50 years. Our factory is equipped with world class paint equipment, assembly lines, and a highly skilled workforce trained under Mitsubishi’s supervision and guidance. Every Xpander comes with a five-year warranty and two years of free servicing. Local assembly has reduced the car’s price.”

The locally produced SUV, powered by a 1.5-litre MIVEC engine, is ideal as a family car. The seven seater Xpander will be available in four different variants Classic , Premium , Eco and Sports.
