Mohamed Salah, the Premier League’s top scorer for the 2024-25 season, has been nominated for the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Players’ Player of the Year award. He is joined on the shortlist by his Liverpool teammate, Alexis Mac Allister.

The other nominees include Alexander Isak of Newcastle United, Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, Declan Rice of Arsenal, and Cole Palmer of Chelsea, with the list selected by their fellow professionals, according to a social media post from the PFA on Friday.

Salah enjoyed an outstanding season, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists, matching the record for most goal involvements in a Premier League campaign (47), a feat previously achieved by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer, both of whom did so when teams played 42 matches per season before the switch to 38 games in 1995-96. His performances were pivotal as Liverpool claimed the league title, finishing 10 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.

Isak, with 23 goals, was instrumental in Newcastle’s push for a Champions League spot, helping the club finish in the top five. Palmer, who netted 15 goals and provided eight assists, also had a standout season, contributing to Chelsea’s fourth-place finish.

The winners of this year’s PFA awards will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester on August 19.
