Due to poor form, Litton Das had been dropped from the Champions Trophy squad. However, the right-handed batter has returned to the side for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Naim Sheikh, who performed well in the DPL (Dhaka Premier League), has also been called up to the squad, which will be led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the Sri Lanka tour.

The 16-member squad was announced on Monday at 11:00 AM in the press conference room of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur by BCB Chief Selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu.

So far this year, Bangladesh has played only two ODIs, both in the ICC Champions Trophy. The squad has seen several changes from that tournament. Mahmudullah Riyad has retired from international cricket, while Mushfiqur Rahim now plays only in the Test format.

Taskin Ahmed, who suffered an ankle injury after the Champions Trophy, has returned to the squad after recovery. Nasum Ahmed and Soumya Sarkar have been left out of the squad. Soumya was not included as he couldn’t recover from a back injury in time. Left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam has replaced Nasum.

Following the first Test in Galle, the Bangladesh team is currently preparing for the second Test in Colombo. The ODI series will begin on July 2 at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, with the second match to be played at the same venue on July 5. The third and final ODI will be held in Pallekele on July 8.
