Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has said that the nation will be given a fair, peaceful, and acceptable election. “We have already taken all necessary steps to ensure this,” he added.

The CEC made these remarks during a post-Eid-ul-Adha discussion meeting with officials at the Election Commission building in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Sunday.

He stated, “Our oath is to work impartially—not to favour any party, to act according to the law, and to follow our conscience. Our responsibility is to ensure a level playing field, and we are fully committed to that. We will play the role of referees. Let the players play, and let the winners win.”

Besides the CEC, four election commissioners and officials from the commission secretariat were present at the meeting.

Addressing the other officials, the CEC further said, “So far, you have not failed in any task assigned to you. You have completed everything within the given timeframe. Many remaining election-related tasks have already been initiated.”

“Our work has progressed significantly. Now, we must all work together to finish it. And God willing, we will present the nation with a fair, peaceful, and acceptable election.”

Nasir Uddin also mentioned, “The chief adviser has repeatedly emphasised his desire to gift the nation a historic election. His confidence in us is why he is making this promise—not just locally but globally.”
