Law enforcement taking immediate action against criminal activity: Home adviser

Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that law enforcement agencies are taking immediate action against criminal incidents as quickly as possible.

He made these remarks during a media briefing after a meeting of the Core Committee on Law and Order at the Ministry of Home Affairs conference room in the Secretariat on Monday afternoon.

The adviser praised law enforcement’s role in handling recent incidents in Muradnagar, Cumilla, and Patuakhali, noting that authorities acted swiftly and successfully arrested the perpetrators.

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury added that apart from discussing the overall law and order situation, the meeting also addressed security arrangements for national programs scheduled from July 1 to August 5 to commemorate the July mass uprising.

He mentioned that various political parties and social organisations will hold events during this period, and full preparations have been made to ensure public participation remains spontaneous, safe, and uninterrupted.

The briefing was attended by the Principal Advisor’s Special Assistant Md Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, IGP Baharul Alam, and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman.
