Korean camping product maker to invest $8.06m in Mongla EPZ

OCF Co Ltd, a South Korean company, has committed to invest US$ 8.06 million in the Mongla Export Processing Zone (Mongla EPZ) to set up a manufacturing facility for tents, camping furniture, accessories, and bags. The agreement was signed on 6 August 2025 at the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) Complex in Dhaka, according to a statement from BEPZA.

The new facility will produce a wide range of camping products, including tents, accessories, furniture, camping chairs, tables, trekking poles, walking sticks, bed cots, pet furniture, arrows, and various types of bags. This project is expected to generate employment for 820 Bangladeshi nationals.

The signing ceremony was attended by BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Mr Md Ashraful Kabir and Mr Hyun Gil Kim, Chairman of OCF Co Ltd. BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BSP, ndc, psc, also witnessed the signing.

In his address, the Executive Chairman of BEPZA expressed strong support for diversified investments and reaffirmed BEPZA’s commitment to providing a secure environment for investors. He thanked OCF Co Ltd for its continued trust in BEPZA, highlighting the importance of acting as ambassadors to attract more South Korean investments in Bangladesh’s EPZs.

Mr Hyun Gil Kim thanked BEPZA for its support and expressed confidence that production will commence next year.

The ceremony was also attended by senior BEPZA officials, including Md Imtiaz Hossain, Member (Engineering), A N M Foyzul Haque, Member (Finance), Md Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Investment Promotion), and A.S.M Anwar Parvez, Executive Director (Public Relations).
