A fish trader named Al Amin, 30, was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in Daulatpur, Khulna.
The murder took place around 10 pm on Sunday, Khanabari Road in the Khanabari area of Banikpara in Maheshwarpasha.
The deceased, Al Amin, was the son of Sahed Ali of Dighi East Para in Maheshwarpasha under Daulatpur police station. He was involved in the fish farming business, confirmed Zahidul Islam, Daulatpur police station’s Inspector.
According to locals, Al Amin was passing by the house of Pallab in North Banikpara when he was attacked and killed by unknown assailants who left his body on the road.
Inspector Zahidul said, “After receiving the information, we rushed to the scene and found a man lying dead with his throat slit in front of Khanabari, beside a black Pulsar motorcycle. It appeared the bike was moving when the attack happened. No one has yet been able to identify the attackers.”
“The victim’s throat was slit with a sharp weapon. He was wearing a t-shirt and gabardine pants. Senior police officers visited the scene shortly after the incident,” he added.
Zahidul further said police are collecting CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning locals to uncover the motive behind the killing.
