BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khaoru Mahmud Chowdhury has left for London to attend Friday’s (June 13) crucial meeting between Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
Chattogram Metropolitan BNP Convener Ershad Ullah confirmed to reporters today that Khosru departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport last night. The senior BNP leader was originally scheduled to attend an important party meeting this morning but cancelled due to his London trip.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday termed the upcoming dialogue potentially “historic,” stating: “The Chief Adviser has invited our acting chairman for discussions at his hotel residence.” The meeting is slated for 9:00-11:00am London time.
The talks gain significance amid conflicting election timelines – while Yunus recently announced the 13th parliamentary polls for April 2026’s first half, the BNP continues demanding elections by December 2024.
