Kader Siddique bids tearful farewell to wife Nasrin Siddique

Breaking down in tears while speaking of their marriage and personal memories, Kader Siddique bed an emotional farewell to his wife Nasrin Siddique.

Nasrin Siddique, the wife of the founder-president of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, was laid to rest on Sunday (June 8) in an emotion choked farewell.

Kader Siddique, popularly known as Bangabir, overcame with grief recalling his wife and their shared life.

Following the second funeral prayer held after Asr at the family’s ancestral village in Chhatiyati, Kalihati upazila of Tangail, Nasrin Siddique was buried in the family graveyard.

Nasrin Siddique suffered a brain hemorrhage on May 22 and was initially admitted to the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital in Dhaka. She was later moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Square Hospital, where she underwent brain surgery on May 23. Despite treatment, she passed away late Saturday night (June 7) at around 11:30 PM. She was 70 years old.

Nasrin was the daughter of former Kumudini College principal Nargis Hamid Qureshi and served as a central committee member of the Krishak Sramik Janata League.

On Sunday morning, her body was brought to the Tangail residence of Kader Siddique’s younger brother, Murad Siddique. Friends, political colleagues, supporters, and family members gathered there to pay their last respects.

The first funeral prayer was held at the PTI ground in Tangail town after Zuhr prayers. Moments before the prayer, Kader Siddique addressed the crowd.

Among those present at the funeral were his brother and former minister Abdul Latif Siddique, Krishak Sramik Janata League General Secretary Habibur Rahman Talukder Khoka Bir Protik, Tangail District BNP General Secretary Advocate Farhad Iqbal, and Tangail Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Ahsan Habib Masud, along with leaders and activists from various political and social organizations.
