Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has implemented special traffic arrangements for Tuesday, August 5, to accommodate day-long cultural programmes and drone shows marking July Mass Uprising Day at Manik Mia Avenue.

The events, organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, will run from 11am to midnight, featuring musical performances, readings of the historic July Declaration, and a special drone show.

With heavy crowds expected near Parliament and Manik Mia Avenue, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzad Ali announced complete vehicle restrictions along Manik Mia Avenue between Khejurbagan Crossing and its western end.

Motorists are advised to follow designated diversions: Vehicles approaching from Mirpur Road or Mohammadpur should continue straight to Dhanmondi-27 via Mirpur Road instead of turning left at Aarong Crossing. Those coming from the Elevated Expressway must divert right at Khejurbagan Crossing towards Uttara Crossing and Lake Road.

Alternative routes include using Syed Mahbub Morshed Road between Agargaon and Shishu Mela, while Farmgate-bound traffic should utilise Bijoy Sarani instead of turning left. All attendees must park at Agargaon Old Trade Fair Ground.

The DMP emphasised cooperation from city residents to minimise congestion, particularly avoiding roads adjacent to Parliament and Manik Mia Avenue throughout the event duration.
