July Charter implementation: NCC holds another meeting with experts

The National Consensus Commission has held another meeting with experts on the ways and methods to implement the July National Charter 2025. The discussion took place on Saturday morning at the LD Hall of the National Parliament, according to a press release.

Participating as experts were Justice MA Matin of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury, Mohammad Ikramul Haq, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Dhaka University, Dr Sharif Bhuiyan, Senior Advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, Barrister Tanim Hossein Shaon, and Barrister Imran Siddique.

During the meeting, the experts were briefed on the summary of previous discussions with political parties regarding the potential recommendations for implementing the charter presented by the commission.

The opinions, suggestions, and concerns of various political parties were particularly highlighted in the discussion so that the experts could gain a clear understanding of the overall context.

Subsequently, the experts’ opinions were sought on the ways and strategies for implementing the charter. Based on the analysis and advice of the experts, the positions and perspectives of the political parties were assessed, and these were taken into consideration for determining future courses of action.

Representing the commission were Vice Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md Emdadul Haque, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, and Dr Md Ayub Mia. Additionally, Monir Haider, special Assistant to the chief adviser also participated in the meeting.
