Jamuna among top 10 sustainable banks for the third consecutive year

Jamuna Bank PLC has once again been recognized among the Top 10 Sustainable Banks of 2024 by Bangladesh Bank for the third consecutive year, in acknowledgment of its sustainable and green financing initiatives, robust financial foundation, expanded service network, and diversified CSR programs aimed at improving the quality of life of marginalized communities, according to a press release.

At the Sustainability Rating Recognition Ceremony organized by Bangladesh Bank in Dhaka, the certificate and crest were handed over to Jamuna Bank Managing Director & CEO Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed by Dr Ahsan H. Mansur, Governor of Bangladesh Bank.

The event was also attended by Deputy Governor Nurunnahar, Director of the Sustainable Finance Department Chowdhury Liakat Ali, Senior Vice President of Jamuna Bank Mohammad Prashanta Samir, and other distinguished officials.

Expressing his gratitude, Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed said, “Jamuna Bank’s sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives are not only a testament to our social responsibility but also a well-planned strategy to strengthen the bank’s financial foundation. We believe that this recognition is more than just an award—it reflects our commitment to responsible and forward-looking banking.”
