BNP Standing Committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy has stated that Jamaat-e-Islami will never come to power in Bangladesh until the Day of Judgment. He further added that Jamaat’s demands are aimed at disrupting the electoral process. According to Roy, Jamaat cannot tolerate the fact that BNP will come to power if the Awami League is not in power.

He made these remarks on Sunday (July 20) at an event held at the residence of BNP’s central volunteer secretary Mir Sarfotal Ali Sopu in Damlapara, Shrinagar upazila of Munshiganj, where he spoke to the media around 12 PM.

Roy went on to say, “Jamaat exists in India and Pakistan as well. Because of this, they do not want to understand the language of the people and are only interested in fulfilling their own agenda.”

The event was attended by BNP’s Central Executive Committee Joint Secretary Advocate Abdus Salam Azad, Volunteer Secretary Mir Sarfotal Ali Sopu, and several local BNP leaders and activists from Munshiganj district.
