The Hatirjheel Amphitheatre in Dhaka witnessed an energetic crowd as over 1,000 runners participated in the International Youth Day Run 2025 on Friday.

Organised by RHSTEP in collaboration with RHRN Bangladesh Coalition Partners, the event aimed to promote youth empowerment and inspire young people to take an active role in building a sustainable future.

Held under the theme “Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future” and the slogan “Empowering Youth, Building Tomorrow,” the run attracted 800 external participants alongside 200 runners from RHSTEP and its partner organisations.

The 7.5km race, which kicked off at 6:00 a.m., was supported by Ultra Camp Runners (UCR) as the technical partner, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for all participants.

Md Ashiqul Islam, deputy executive director of RHSTEP, spoke at the event, emphasising the importance of providing youth with the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to contribute to social and environmental development. He noted that collective action from young people can drive transformative change, helping to achieve sustainable development goals.

The International Youth Day Run 2025 not only celebrated the potential of Bangladesh’s youth but also created a platform for solidarity, awareness, and collaboration among different communities.
