A two-day International Biotechnology Conference 2025 has began on Friday at BRAC University. Organized under the Biotechnology Program of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNS), the conference is buzzing with the participation of scientists, researchers, educators, and students from both Bangladesh and abroad.
The international conference is being organized to explore the potential of biotechnology in promoting sustainable agriculture, healthcare, and environmental management, as well as to encourage innovative research.
More than a thousand participants from various countries, including Bangladesh, are attending the conference. They are engaging in discussions on biotechnology research, its practical applications, and various innovative aspects. Renowned researchers, academics, and professional scientists are presenting their research papers and participating in various workshops.
The key aims of the conference include highlighting emerging trends and new possibilities in biotechnology, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration through the exchange of research-based knowledge, and establishing leadership in research in South Asia and the broader Global South.
According to BRAC University, this conference reflects their commitment to research excellence and practical.
The keynote speaker at the inaugural session was Professor Dr Md Saydur Rahman, Special Assistant, Ministry of Health and Family Wekfare.
Vice Chancellor of BRAC University Prof Dr Syed Ferhat Anwar, Registrar of the university, Dr David Dowland and Prof Dr Mahbubul Alam Majumdar were present as special guests.
