Imam killed in motorcycle crash in Madaripur

A 37-year-old imam, Mawlana Abdur Rahman, was killed in a motorcycle accident early Monday morning after losing control of his bike and crashing into a tree.

The incident occurred on the Banshkandi-Shekhpur regional road in South Banshkandi Union, Shibchar Upazila. Mawlana Rahman, the son of the late Hakim Ali Howlader, was on his way to lead the Fajr prayers at his mosque in Panchgram.

According to local sources and family members, the imam lost control of his motorcycle near Abdul Jabbar Sikdar’s house, causing him to crash into a tree. The accident resulted in severe head injuries.

Locals quickly rushed to his aid and transported him to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor confirmed his death.
