The ICT Division will not organise any training sessions that lack national or international accreditation, announced Fayez Ahmad Taiyab, special assistant to the chief adviser on Posts, Telecommunication, and Information Technology, in his keynote speech at a national-level workshop of the Her Power Project held at the ICT Tower’s BCC Auditorium in Dhaka.

Fayez Taiyab emphasised that through the Her Power Project, the path to empowering women in the country has been significantly widened. He further stated that to enhance the effectiveness of the project, the quality of training would be improved by using Learning Management Software. Plans are also underway to include all upazilas in the Her Power Project.

Taiyab also highlighted that trainers for freelancing programs must have experience earning on international marketplaces. He noted that a database will be created for individuals who have already received training, ensuring that the project adheres to proper standards, including vendor selection based on those standards.

Shish Haider Chowdhury, secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Division, mentioned that in the second phase of the project, they would modernize the training quality and expand the project’s reach. He also mentioned that the dropout rate among trainees would be considered when planning the subsequent training sessions.

The workshop was chaired by Md Abu Sayed, director-general of the Directorate of Information Technology. It was attended by project stakeholders, experts from various fields, and officials from the ICT Division.
It is worth mentioning that the Her Power Project, implemented by the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, titled Empowering Women with Technology (1st Amendment), will conclude on June 30, 2025.
