To mark the July Uprising Day, all mobile phone users in Bangladesh will receive 1GB of free internet on Friday, July 18, under a special initiative declared by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

The free data will remain valid for five days, allowing users to enjoy internet services at no extra cost during the period.

The BTRC made the announcement in a notification issued on July 16, declaring the day as “Free Internet Day” as part of the official celebration of the July Uprising Day.

Mobile operators have been instructed to provide the free data to all customers, following a directive from the Posts and Telecommunications Department. The decision was finalised in a meeting held on July 8, chaired by the BTRC Vice-Chairman.

Customers can activate the free 1GB data offer by dialling the following USSD codes:

Grameenphone (GP):  *121*1807#

Robi: 41807#

Banglalink: 1211807#

Teletalk: 111807#

The move is part of a broader effort to promote digital access and commemorate a significant day in the nation’s political history.
