Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb has said that the government’s goal is to equip the young generation with ICT knowledge to develop skilled human resources.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the third National ICT Scout Jamboree held at the National Scout Training Centre in Mouchak, Gazipur, on Saturday.
He stated, “The government’s aim is to transform the young generation into skilled human resources through information technology knowledge. The ICT Scout Jamboree is not only strengthening the scouting movement but also creating opportunities for the youth to play a significant role in transforming the country into a Smart Bangladesh.”
He further added that the ICT Division will organise nationwide AI and IT skill development training to build a workforce proficient in artificial intelligence. At the same time, he emphasised the importance of scouts cultivating ethics, leadership qualities, and a service-oriented mindset.
Addressing the youth, Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb said that through knowledge, innovation, experience sharing, and leadership development, scouts will become key ambassadors in building a “Smart Bangladesh” in the future. He described the integration of the scouting movement with information technology as a unique initiative to shape the young generation into more skilled, dynamic, and world-class citizens.
The theme of this year’s jamboree, held from September 19–21, was “Let Technology Serve Humanity.” Through training, workshops, innovative exhibitions, and various other activities, initiatives were taken to enhance the technological skills of the scouts.
Taiyeb visited the mobile museum bus of the Ministry of Science and Technology at the event venue.
The event was attended by Camp Chief Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, Ad-hoc Committee Member Abu Saleh Md Mahiuddin Khan, Additional District Commissioner (Education and ICT) Sohail Rana, senior officials of the scouting movement, trainers, ICT sector experts, and over a hundred scouts and volunteers from various districts across the country.
