The government approved separate proposals for procuring one cargo of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and 30,000 metric tons (MTs) of fertilizer to meet Bangladesh’s growing demand.
The approvals came from the 23rd meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) this year held on Tuesday at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed as the chair, reports BSS.
Following a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Petrobangla would procure one cargo of LNG from the spot market the following international quotation method from M/S Excelerate Energy LP, USA with around Tk 612.54 crore.
Following a proposal from the Ministry of Industries, the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) would procure 30,000 MTs of bagged granular urea fertilizer from Karnafuli Fertiliser Company (KAFCO), Bangladesh under the 17th lot for the current fiscal year with around Tk 140.27 crore per ton fertilizer costing $383.25.
The day’s purchase committee meeting also approved separate proposals from the Road Transport and Highways Division and Security Service Division.
