The admission policy for the 2025–26 academic session of Class XI has been published.
As per the newly issued guidelines, applications will be accepted in three phases. The first phase of online application will begin on July 30 and continue until August 11. The results of this phase will be announced at 8pm on August 20. Two more rounds of application, result publication, confirmation, and final admission will follow. After the completion of all phases, classes for Class XI will commence on September 15.
The policy was published on Thursday, July 24, at around 5:30pm. It was signed by Md Abdul Kuddus, deputy secretary of the Government College-1 Section under the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.
In the first phase, students can apply from July 30 to August 11. The verification and objection process will be conducted on August 12. Those whose results change due to re-evaluation or challenge will be allowed to apply on August 13 and 14. Students will be given the opportunity to revise their preference list on August 15. Results of the first phase will be published on August 20 at 8pm. Selected applicants must confirm their admission on August 22. Those who fail to confirm their selection in the first phase must reapply in the second phase by paying the application fee again.
The first migration results will be published on August 28, along with the results of the second phase at 8pm. Confirmation for second-phase candidates will be held on August 29 and 30. Applications for the third and final phase will be accepted on August 31 and September 1. Results of the second migration and the third phase will be released on September 3. Confirmation for this phase must be completed by 8pm on September 4. The final migration results will be published on September 5.
Final admission for all selected candidates across the three phases will be held between September 7 and 14. The new academic year for Class XI students will begin the following day, on September 15.
This year, the online application fee has been increased to Tk 220 from last year’s Tk 150. That marks a Tk 70 hike. As in previous years, there will be no admission tests or lottery system. Admissions will be granted based on SSC or equivalent exam results and the students’ college preferences.
Applicants can submit preferences for a minimum of five and a maximum of ten colleges or equivalent institutions. Based on merit, quota (if applicable), and preference, each student will be allocated to one college. However, some institutions, such as Notre Dame College in Dhaka, will conduct their own admission process independently.
The admission process will be conducted centrally online with technical support from BUET, under the supervision of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
