Govt forms committee to investigate Gopalganj violence

In a post on his official Facebook page, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Shafiqul Alam revealed that the interim government has form ed a committee “to investigate the acts of violence and deaths that occurred in Gopalganj” on Wednesday.
According to the press secretary, the committee will be chaired by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Ghani, with support from two additional secretaries: One from the Ministry of Public Administration and another from the Ministry of Law and Justice.
“This committee has been mandated to conduct a thorough inquiry and submit its findings to the Chief Adviser’s Office within two weeks,” he said.
Shafiqul Alam reiterated the government’s commitment to upholding justice and maintaining public order, adding that it is working to ensure “that those responsible for any unlawful acts and violence are held accountable in accordance with the law.”
