The government is set to establish 10 innovation hubs in collaboration with universities across Bangladesh, aiming to foster digital growth and innovation.
Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, special assistant to the Chief Adviser for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, has revealed this initiative at the Digital Innovation Summit 2025 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
This effort aligns with the country’s broader strategy to boost technological development and create a skilled, youth-driven workforce capable of leading the digital transformation.
In his address, Taiyeb emphasised that 60% of Bangladesh’s population is under the age of 35, positioning the nation as a potential digital powerhouse.
He highlighted ongoing government initiatives, including the development of ICT infrastructure, startup investments, cybersecurity measures, and upcoming national policies on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and blockchain.
Taiyeb also announced the establishment of innovation hubs in partnership with ten universities, aiming to cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students. Additionally, the government is initiating projects to digitize the country’s literature and cultural heritage, enhancing the development of Bangla-language AI models.
Concluding his remarks, Taiyeb urged technology leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs to actively participate in the formulation of national policies, emphasizing the collective effort required to build a smart, inclusive, and innovative Bangladesh.
