Bangladesh’s Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday inaugurated a five-day orientation session earmarked for Army’s hajj delegation-2025 at the Sena Malancha complex in Dhaka Cantonment.
The contingent, comprising 226 army personnel selected for this year’s pilgrimage, will be off to Saudi Arabia in two separate flights. The orientation program aims to help the pilgrims know more about the demanding rituals of Hajj.
General Waker-Uz-Zaman conveyed his best wishes to the pilgrims, expressing hope for their safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling journey. “His presence underscored the significance the military places on both the religious and logistical dimensions of the Hajj mission” says an officer of the mission.
The Bangladesh Army has long maintained a structured programme for its personnel to participate in the annual pilgrimage, reflecting the country’s Islamic traditions and the military’s commitment to holistic well-being of its service members.
The Hajj orientation sessions also include briefings on health protocols, group coordination, and emergency preparedness to align with Saudi legal framework.
This year’s Hajj pilgrimage is expected to attract over two million Muslims from around the globe, amid continuing efforts by host authorities to enhance crowd management and safety protocols.
