Four Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of police have been sent into compulsory retirement in the interest of public service.
Separate notifications were issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, 28 July. The orders were signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani on behalf of the President.
The officials who have been sent into retirement are DIG Atika Islam, attached to the DIG office of Dhaka Range, DIG Md Mahbub Alam, attached to Railway Police, Dhaka, DIG Md Monir Hossain, attached to Industrial Police and DIG AKM Nahidul Islam, attached to Police Telecom, Dhaka.
According to the notifications, they have been sent into retirement in public interest and will be entitled to retirement benefits as per government rules.
