Manikganj District Police have arrested former Awami League MP from Manikganj-1 (Ghiyore-Daulatpur-Shibaloy) and former BCB director Naimur Rahman Durjoy.
He was arrested from Lalmatia in the capital on Wednesday night.
DIG Rezaul Karim Mallik of Dhaka Range confirmed the matter to the Times of Bangladesh.
He stated that former MP Naimur Rahman Durjoy faces multiple cases, including involvement in attacks during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. After completing legal procedures, he will be produced in court tomorrow.
Earlier, on January 21, the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court ordered the confiscation of a 2,523-square-foot flat, land, and three cars registered under Naimur Rahman Durjoy’s name in Lalmatia, Dhaka.
Additionally, orders were issued to freeze 12 bank accounts.
