Former Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Police Md. Iqbal Bahar was arrested from a house in Bailey Road area of the capital on Friday evening.
DMP Joint Commissioner (DB) Nasirul Islam confirmed the matter, saying that Iqbal Bahar is now in the custody of Detective Branch of police.
The police have not yet said whether Iqbal Bahar has been arrested in any case.
Iqbal Bahar previously served as the Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP). Later, he was transferred to Rajarbagh T&IM as Additional IGP. He retired in 2019.
