Five of a family severely burnt in Ashulia

Five members of a family, including two women, sustained severe burn injuries in a fire reportedly caused by a gas cylinder explosion in Ashulia on Wednesday morning. The injured were identified as Jewel, (24), Shanto, (21), Haowa Akter, (40), Jahurul, (26), and Jahanara, (40), all residents of Faridpur district.

According to Kamal Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Ashulia Police Station, the blast occurred on the second floor of a house near a garment factory in the Narsinghpur area. The victims were initially taken to Ashulia Women and Children Hospital but later transferred to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka as their conditions worsened.

Police and fire service personnel visited the scene, where the explosion had severely damaged the walls of the house. An investigation is underway.
