Bruno Fernandes delivered yet another decisive performance as Manchester United secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, boosting their push for Champions League qualification.

The Portuguese playmaker registered his 18th Premier League assist of the season, setting up the only goal for Matheus Cunha just before half-time. The strike proved enough to seal United’s first league win away at Chelsea in over five years.

Fernandes’ assist now leaves him just two short of the single-season Premier League record jointly held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, underlining his influence once again.

The decisive moment came on the stroke of the interval when Fernandes surged down the right, evaded Alejandro Garnacho and cut the ball back for Cunha, who finished clinically past Robert Sanchez.

Chelsea dominated the second half but failed to convert their superiority into goals. Pedro Neto was central to their attacking threat, delivering a series of dangerous crosses. Liam Delap came closest, striking the woodwork with a header, while a defensive touch from Noussair Mazraoui also rattled the bar.

Despite registering 21 shots, Chelsea struggled to create clear chances and were unable to find a breakthrough. United, fielding a makeshift defence including teenager Ayden Heaven, held firm to secure all three points.

The result leaves United 10 points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea, strengthening their grip on a top-five finish. For Chelsea, the defeat marks a fourth consecutive league loss without scoring, their worst run since 1998.
