BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir left Dhaka for Bangkok on Wednesday morning to undergo follow-up treatment for his eye.
He was accompanied by his wife Rahat Ara Begum and departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:15am on a Thai Airways flight, BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB.
Fakhrul will receive treatment at Rutnin Eye Hospital, where he underwent successful surgery on 14 May to address a retina problem in his left eye. He had travelled to Bangkok a day earlier for that emergency procedure.
According to Sayrul, the BNP leader is expected to return home on 19 August.
