The Election Commission (EC) is expected to unveil the final roadmap for the 13th National Parliamentary Election on Thursday.

EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed made this announcement at a press conference held Wednesday afternoon at the Election Commission media centre.

“We have prepared the action plan. Please wait until tomorrow (Thursday) for the announcement,” said the EC secretary.

When asked about the exact timing of the announcement, Akhtar Ahmed added, “There are several pending matters related to this. We understand your eagerness. Please wait until tomorrow.”

Earlier, Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud confirmed that the commission has already approved the roadmap, which is expected to be published within the next two to three days.

Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has stated that the elections will likely be held in the first half of February, with the schedule announced about two months prior. This suggests the schedule could be released in early December.

The Election Commission has already begun preparations, including updating the voter list, training, establishing polling centres, preparing panels of polling officials, drafting manuals, law reforms, and procurement of election materials.

In total, the roadmap will cover 24 key areas necessary for conducting the election.
