Election conspiracy will not work, says home adviser

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that no conspiracy will succeed when the people are determined to head towards the elections.

He emphasised that law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to conduct the elections in February, following the Chief Adviser’s announced timeline.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the Agriculture Development Corporation’s cold storage facility on Saturday, he further asserted, “When the public is ready for the election, no conspiracy will succeed.” He also reiterated that preparations for the upcoming elections are progressing according to the schedule outlined by the Chief Adviser.

Regarding the recovery of arms, the Home Adviser explained, “Steps are being taken not only for the election but to prevent any arms from entering the country at any time of the year.” He added that a significant number of weapons have already been seized, and efforts are underway to recover all illegal arms before the elections.

Asked about measures to prevent arms smuggling during the election period, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury assured, “We are taking all necessary actions to stop arms smuggling. Measures to prevent the entry of illegal arms are being implemented year-round, not just during the election.”

The Home Adviser also commented on the growing social media presence surrounding the elections, stating, “The people will make the final decision. Political parties will not face any obstacles when they are ready to participate in the election.”

Addressing the current border situation, he assured us that “the border is completely secure, and the people living in these areas are highly vigilant.”

With the government fully committed to holding the election as planned, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury’s remarks reassure the public of continued efforts to maintain law and order during the electoral process.
