The holy Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated in Bangladesh on June 7 as the crescent moon of Zil Hajj month was sighted in Bangladesh’s sky on Wednesday evening.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of the Zil Hajj month of the Hijri calendar.

Meanwhile, the 10-day Eid vacation in Bangladesh, which the government announced earlier this month, is going to start on June 5.

In another development, the Newspapers Owners Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) in a notice declared a five-day holiday for the journalist community.

Journalists working in the country’s mass media will, therefore, enjoy the Eid holiday from June 5 to June 9.
