Former senior secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division Siddiq Zubair has been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Wednesday, stating, “Siddiq Zubair, Senior Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division serving on a contractual basis, has been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.”
Students launched protests on Tuesday demanding the resignation of the education adviser and the education secretary, citing delays in suspending the HSC exams following the Air Force training aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka.
When students entered the Secretariat at noon on Tuesday and began vandalising property, clashes erupted with the police. Shortly after, the interim government announced the withdrawal of Education Secretary Siddiq Zubair.
At the time of his appointment on October 14 last year, it was stated that his tenure would be for two years.
