The Election Commission (EC) will publish the draft list of polling stations for the 13th National Parliamentary Election on September 10. This information was disclosed in a letter signed by EC Deputy Secretary Md Mahbub Alam Shah on Wednesday.

The letter stated that the “Guidelines for Establishment and Management of Polling Stations in National Parliamentary Elections-2025” has already been approved by the Commission and was published in an extra issue of the Bangladesh Gazette on June 26. According to Article 8 (1) and (2) of the Representation of the People Order, 1972, the list of polling stations must be published in the Gazette at least 25 days before polling.

To this end, the Commission has directed the publication of area-wise draft lists of polling stations, the receipt of claims and objections regarding these lists, and the resolution of such claims and objections to prepare the final list.

As per the scheduled timeline, the draft list of polling stations will be published on September 10, with the last date for submitting claims and objections set for September 25. The deadline for resolving these claims and objections is October 12, and the probable final list of polling stations is expected to be finalised on October 20.

The EC stated that, in accordance with the guidelines, polling stations and voting booths will be determined, the draft list published, and objections resolved before the final list is prepared. Relevant Regional Election Officers have been instructed to send the numerical data, including soft copies, of the draft and probable final lists of polling stations to the Election Assistance-1 Section within the stipulated timeframe.
